Voices Together is an innovative and rapidly growing non-profit organization in the central and northern regions of North Carolina. We currently serve clients in ten counties, within school districts and the community. Our primary program goals are to increase language and social/emotional learning in individuals with developmental disabilities and autism. Our award- winning, proprietary program and method is evidence-based and considered a best practice. Having built a strong partnerships with Duke University for research and the NC DHHS – Division of Vocational Rehab, we are now expanding in the area of early intervention.


The ideal candidate enjoys and is skilled in-group session work, has a good knowledge of basic counseling and therapeutic methods, is energetic, and works well within a team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly specialized music therapeutic group and individual programming, primarily for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Maintain and build strong therapeutic relationships with clients
  • Maintain and build strong professional relationships with families and teachers
  • Develop client and group therapeutic goals through assessment and evaluation
  • Participate in team and staff meetings, internal professional development opportunities and organizational events

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in music therapy
  • Board certification or ability to obtain board certification within the first month of hire
  • A track record of building strong therapeutic relationships with clients
  • A demonstrated commitment to meeting high standards in a professional setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of counseling skills
  • Promotes a positive and energetic group environment
  • Organized and works well with others
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance
  • Experience working in a group therapeutic setting a plus
  • Experience working with individuals with diverse abilities a plus
  • Experience with songwriting a plus
