Seeking Part-time Community Coordinator


The Community Coordinator is the face of Voices Together’s community outreach. The person in this role will be an advocate for Voices Together and the main point of contact for participants, parents, and caregivers. This role will also be responsible for planning Voices Together’s community events, including group performances. This person should be kind, compassionate, and excited to engage with people in their community. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Educating clients and members of the community about Voices Together’s offerings
  • Proactively communicating with parents to address approaching holidays, inclement weather, and event reminders
  • Coordinating with Finance Director for billing for individuals sessions  
  • Responsible for answering phones and group scheduling
  • Responsible for building and maintaining waitlists for community groups
  • Identifying and booking event spaces for groups, performances, and community events
  • Doing outreach and advocacy to grow community groups
  • Grow and maintain social media presence
  • Publish Voices Together’s email newsletter to the community
  • Administer and collect parent surveys

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Competencies: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work under pressure 
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve 
  • Proficient with Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Pro
  • Knowledge of music therapy, or willingness to learn

Seeking Full-Time Board-Certified Music Therapists

Voices Together is an innovative and rapidly growing non-profit organization in the central and northern regions of North Carolina. We currently serve clients in ten counties within school districts and the community, with more expansion on the horizon. Voices Together uses our specialized and evidenced-based VOICSS® model to increase communication and social/emotional learning in individuals with diverse abilities. Voices Together is expanding in the field of Early Intervention, as well as in the area of Pre-Employment Transition Services through our work with the NC DHHS Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide weekly specialized individual and group music therapy sessions for individuals with diverse abilities
  • Build and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with clients, families, and teachers
  • Develop therapeutic goals through assessment and evaluation
  • Participate in team and staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and Voices Together events

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities/Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in music therapy required
  • Board certification or ability to obtain board certification within the first month of hire
  • Experience building strong therapeutic relationships with clients
  • A demonstrated commitment to meeting high clinical standards in a professional setting, including but not limited to: leading groups, recruiting clients, songwriting, developing curriculum, showing initiative/innovation, exhibiting leadership skills/problem-solving skills in communicating with team and CEO.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in basic counseling/verbal processing skills
  • Promotes a positive and energetic group environment
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance
  • Experience working in a group therapeutic setting preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with diverse abilities preferred
  • Songwriting ability preferred
