Voices Together is rapidly growing and is in nine North Carolina school districts as well as the community. The ideal candidate enjoys and is skilled in-group session work, has good knowledge of basic counseling and therapeutic methods, is energetic, and works well within a team.

Voices Together is an innovative and rapidly expanding non-profit organization in the central region of North Carolina. Our primary program goals are to increase language and social/emotional learning in individuals with developmental disabilities and autism. Our award- winning proprietary program and method is evidence-based and considered a best practice. Having built a strong partnerships with Duke University for research and the NC DHHS, Div of Vocational Rehab, the organizations next objectives will be towards early intervention.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly specialized music therapeutic group and individual programming, primarily for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Maintain and build strong therapeutic relationships with clients
  • Maintain and build strong professional relationships with families and teachers
  • Develop client and group therapeutic goals through assessment and evaluation
  • Participate in team and staff meetings, internal professional development opportunities and organizational events

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in music therapy
  • Board certification or ability to obtain board certification within the first month of hire
  • A track record of building strong therapeutic relationships with clients
  • A demonstrated commitment to meeting high standards in a professional setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of counseling skills
  • Promotes a positive and energetic group environment
  • Organized and works well with others
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance
  • At least two years work experience
  • Experience working in a group therapeutic setting a plus
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities a plus
  • Experience with a songwriting a plus
