Brenna Currie Scholarship Fund

Brenna Marie CurrieEstablished through the generosity of family and friends, the Brenna Currie Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Brenna Marie Currie, who passed away unexpectedly in March of 2013 at the age of 22.

Brenna Marie Currie, from Jamestown, NC, was an extraordinary spirit with a beautiful heart. Brenna attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. She was passionate about helping people discover how music could enrich their lives. Her deep belief in the healing power of music led her to pursue a Music Therapy degree.

Help us fund scholarships for those in need.

This scholarship fund set up in Brenna’s honor will help ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities, along with their families, have access to leading-edge music therapy services regardless of their financial situation.

The Need Continues to Grow

Today, more than half of Voices Together community clients – more than ever before – depend on need-based aid from the organization. The scholarships are awarded every January and there is a waiting list for additional funds each year.  Please consider a monthly donation to keep the scholarship fund supplied all year long.

A Letter from one of our Parents

“Voices Together gives my son, who has autism, the opportunity to make friends in a fun group. At the same time, he learns social skills and self-expression skills for the first time as an adult. These new skills help him keep his job and friends and get a life he loves and really enjoy living independently in the community! THANK YOU!”
