Florence Peacock has been recognized for her quiet cultural contributions to the Chapel Hill community.

Peacock, a soprano, is a critically acclaimed international soloist in oratorio, recitals and baroque opera. She has been featured on National Public Radio and regularly performs in Chapel Hill and at Oberlin College.

Her support of her community goes beyond cultural contributions. She is involved in Preservation Chapel Hill, an organization that works towards keeping historical sites and landmarks intact, as well as local anti-hunger organizations and maternity facilities for women in prisons.
