Voices Together

Lorrie Schmid, Ph.D., is lead for data and analysis at the Social Science Research Institute at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Schmid's work focuses on supporting research and research collaborations related to data on education and human development through data management and statistical analysis expertise.

Specifically, she studies the interplay between individual student attributes related to elements of classrooms and schools and how that affects academic and behavior outcomes. This requires learning, applying and refining the latest statistical tools.

Schmid developed these interests in developmental methodology during her education and now applies them in her work with Voices Together. She began working with Voices Together in 2015 and conducted several research studies on the Voices Together program. This has included two publications on program results and a paper under review on measurement processes.

Her current work includes the development of several grant proposals to extend the work she and Voices Together have implemented.
