Voices Together

Steve Strom is the project director for the Money Follows the Person Demonstration Project, the largest Medicaid-sponsored project that assists individuals who live in institutions such as nursing homes and state developmental centers to transition back to the community into a home of their own.

Prior to that, he was a systems change manager for the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities in Raleigh and a frequent speaker at disability related events. He managed a portfolio of grants supporting innovation for services for North Carolina citizens with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

Strom and his wife launched a ministry at their church for children and adults with disabilities and their family members. In his spare time, he enjoys training for half marathons along with 600 of his closest friends in his running club, The Raleigh Galloway Group, as part of The Thundering Herd.

Strom and his wife have been fans of Voices Together since their son participated in the program as an elementary and high school student, and they saw the program help him express himself in ways he had never done before.
