Philip Buchanan, Ph.D., FACMGG

Dr. Philip D. Buchanan, Ph.D., FACMGG, is a Medical Geneticist and Clinical Cytogeneticist boarded by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics and the American Board of Medical Specialists. He is Adjunct Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the George Washington University. Dr. Buchanan graduated from North Carolina State University. Post-doctoral studies were completed at the University of Michigan, Harvard University and the University of Oregon. He joined the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1970 to direct a new Prenatal Genetic Counseling Clinic and Cytogenetics Laboratory. Dr. Buchanan is a member of many professional societies. He presents at international meetings, publishes, moderates conferences, teaches, and serves as reviewer for peer-reviewed journals, serves on college committees and as an NIH, FDA, NIEHS, and EPA Advisor. In 1983, Dr. Buchanan established GeneCare Medical Genetics Center in Chapel Hill. The Center had very active international research, clinical, laboratories and teaching programs. Dr. Buchanan served as Executive Vice President for Genetics at Alere. He has helped start and manage multiple private and public companies and foundations. He served as Chairman of the Board for Vestrics, a predictive business analytics corporation. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for Voices Together. He serves on the board of the Fetal Medicine Foundation of the USA and of Biofluidica. He is also a business, research, and medical consultant.
Caterri Woodrum

Caterri Woodrum is the Chief Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer for the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, NC. In her role, she is responsible for all aspects of business operations and financial performance for the Museum and its earned income business units (Iris Restaurant, the Museum retail operations, and the NCMA Performing Arts program). Caterri also oversees the operations of the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation, which provides the majority of funding for the Museum. Caterri is an accomplished CPA with over twenty five years of senior financial and managerial experience in long-range planning, budgeting, financial reporting, business operations, public accounting, auditing, recruiting, consulting and process enhancement. She has been with the Museum for nine years. Caterri’s expertise stems, in part, from a strong background in financial and operational management within the pharmaceutical industry. She held several positions of increasing responsibility during her tenure at GlaxoSmithKline, culminating in her oversight of Audit and Consulting Services for the North American operations. Caterri was recruited into the pharmaceutical industry from her auditing career with Price Waterhouse. Caterri has also had her hand in entrepreneurship as the managing director/owner of an independent financial consulting and recruitment business.
Jan Riggsbee, ED.D.

Jan Riggsbee is the Director and Chair of Duke’s Program in Education and the NCATE Unit Head for the Duke University undergraduate and graduate teacher preparation programs. As a licensed K-12 educator with more than 30 years of experience as a teacher, school administrator, curriculum specialist, and teacher educator, Riggsbee’s research interests focus on teacher retention and professional development; school curricula and reform; school leadership; and community-based learning. Recent initiatives include a three-year federal grant initiative focused on service-learning as a pedagogy for K-12 schools, a research project with faculty in Psychology and Neuroscience to study factors impacting fifth-grade students’ transition to middle school, and a six-year professional development and renewal program for mid-career teachers in the Durham Public Schools. Recent honors include recognition by the Dean of Arts and Sciences and Dean of Academic Affairs for teaching excellence (Fall 2012 and Fall 2010) and the Trinity College Distinguished Teaching Award/The Robert B. Cox Award in 2006-2007.
Linda Foxworth

Linda has over 50 years of experience working with young children with special needs and their families. Linda is the founder of the KidSCope program and has been its director since 1988 serving Orange and Chatham Counties. Linda started the KidSCope program in Orange County, growing the program over the next thirty years to include inclusive childcare, mental health and family support, childcare consultation, and early intervention for children, birth to five, and their families in Orange and Chatham Counties. In 1980, she founded and directed Sycamore Preschool, the first full-time inclusive childcare center in Orange County, NC. She instituted the first childcare consultation program for children with special needs at Durham County Mental Health Center in 1984. Linda has served on numerous local and statewide committees and task forces. She is Founder and Co-Chair of the Orange Chatham Early Childhood Mental Health Task Force since 2012. KidSCope currently has Voices Together in Chatham County and at the Chapel Hill locations.
Anne Lloyd
Member at Large - Member Since 2017

Anne has served as an advisor to Voices Together for over three years. Starting her new board term in 2017, Anne will serve her first term for three years. Anne is a client advisor, Senior Vice President with Wells Fargo, and has served on many boards in the Durham/Raleigh area, including Durham Academy and Caring House.

Jennifer Trapani
Member at Large - Member since 2019

Jennifer is the Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer for The Redwoods Group, which is a Property and Casualty Insurance Provider. She and her husband Kevin are co-founders of The Redwoods Group, which is a company committed to being a strong engine for positive social change. Their business provides insurance to non-profit, child serving organizations, and gives away hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to non- profit organizations around the world through the Redwoods Group Foundation.  Jennifer is currently serving on the corporate board for YMCA of the Triangle. She is past board chair for Habitat for Humanity Durham County, and past Board Chair for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA. She is a board member of Latino Educational Achievement Partnership (LEAP) and was an advisory member for the Tomorrow Fund, an organization helping first generation Latinos to meet the financial challenges associated with attending college.  She has also been a volunteer with Teach for America, a Sunday school teacher for her church, a supporter of WUNC and Camp Kesem. Jennifer and Kevin have been co-chairs of the Triangle Land Conservancy River Society and EnLIST, a group of key supporters of the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions at Duke and they will chair the Annual Campaign for YMCA of the Triangle for 2019-2020.

Yasmine White, MT-BC

Voices Together founder and CEO Yasmine White has spent nearly three decades as a music therapist and has devoted most of her career to working with children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities such as autism. The techniques and methods that form the core of the Voices Together program are the product of those years of hands-on work. She is a board certified music therapist, has a degree from the University of Maryland and has taken advanced studies in music therapy. The mid-Atlantic Music Therapy Association recognized her with its annual achievement award. Yasmine has appeared on radio programs and was profiled in newspaper articles. She has written articles and has presented at regional and national conferences. In 2014, Yasmine conducted a workshop at the international music therapy conference in Vienna Austria.
